I didn't do much planning for this meal. I made one of my old standard dinners, and just incorporated a couple things from my new food from Fair Shares. I made baked, breaded chicken cutlets, roasted potatoes, asparagus, and a salad.
The timing didn't work out well. I tried to make the salad in some free time, but shortly after I started eating it, I had to start cooking the asparagus. I ended up eating the rest of it standing up by the stove.
I generally only buy dishwasher-safe cooking tools. I don't care if I can't buy the highest quality knives or frying pans, I just don't want the inconvenience of hand-washing. I also didn't own any non-stick pans. But I wanted a grill pan recently, and I let the salesperson talk me into a non-stick, hand-wash one. I'd taken the responsibility of washing it the other times, but Roy surprised me tonight. He washed it while he was cleaning up after dinner. Let's hear it for Roy dealing with all the dirty dishes I leave in the sink!
I used the lettuce mix, a couple mint leaves, last week's radish shoots, olive oil, and asparagus from Fair Shares.
Have you tried mint leaves on watermelon pieces? Seriously brings it to a whole new level....
ReplyDeleteI put mine in a wheat berry waldorf salad last night...
Your marinated asparagus sounds awesome! We didn't get asparagus yesterday because it got hailed on!
Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't gotten watermelon recently, but if I do, I'll try it. I've been telling my husband to eat some with the strawberries.
